Parenting Plans Home

The Purpose of the Alabama Parenting Plans website is to:

  • Provide model parenting plan court forms to be used by parents, lawyers, and judges.
  • Provide options for choosing a time-sharing schedule based on the best interests of the child(ren). Note that these schedules are suggested but can be adjusted to fit an individual family’s needs.

What is a Parenting Plan?

A Parenting Plan is a court form that contains:

  • Information about child custody and decisions parents make when raising their child(ren).
  • General Time-Sharing Schedule which specifies when child(ren) share their time with parents during the regular school year. Parents can complete a Parenting Plan together, or each parent can complete a separate Parenting Plan to submit to the Court.
